Prize Distribution Ceremony for Vigilance Awareness Campaign and Swachhata Hi Seva 2025

“The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.” – Thomas Jefferson
The Prize Distribution Ceremony for Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2025 and Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 was held on 29th October 2025 at the Multipurpose Hall, Aayakar Bhawan, Kolkata. The event was graced by several eminent dignitaries who shared their valuable insights on the significance of vigilance in everyday life.
The winners included Supratik Chakraborty and Manya Shree of Grade IX, Aradhya Raghav, Adrija Mukherjee, Shrihan Sarkar of Grade VII securing prizes under the essay competition, and Mitil Patra of Grade XI in the painting competition.
The campaign and the ceremony served as a reminder that vigilance, integrity, and cleanliness are vital virtues for every responsible citizen.

CBSE NATIONAL SWIMMING COMPETITION 2025

The Alumni Association of BDMI, in collaboration with the Interact Club, spearheaded a clothes donation drive that culminated on September 22, 2025. Around 100 bags of wearable clothes, generously contributed by students from toddlers to Grade XII, were handed over to representatives of Ramakrishna Mission, Narendrapur, and Aim Foundation.

Principal Ms Madhumita Sengupta handed over the donations and extended heartfelt thanks to parents for their support of this noble cause.

Dibyanshu Mohanty of Grade XII won the Gold Medal in the below 82 Kg Under-19 category and qualified for the Nationals. The 69th State School Games 2025 was organised by the West Bengal State Council for School Games and Sports. The event was held at the Howrah Dumurjala Indoor Stadium from 27th to 29th August, 2025.

Debabrata Pramanik of Grade VIII won the Bronze Medal in the under-17 Below 58 Kg Boys category.
Ushnish Guha Roy of Grade VII won the Silver Medal in the under-14 Above 60 Kg Boys category.

9th Clifford Hicks International Debate 2025

Shevanti Guha of Class IX, Section 11, B.D.M. International, secured the Best Speaker Award (Category II) at the Clifford Hicks International Debate, hosted by The Calcutta Boys’ School from 28th October to 1st November 2025. The event witnessed participation from over 80 national and international schools, providing a dynamic platform for meaningful exchange of ideas. 

CBSE NATIONAL SWIMMING COMPETITION 2025

The Alumni Association of BDMI, in collaboration with the Interact Club, spearheaded a clothes donation drive that culminated on September 22, 2025. The young Chess masters of B.D.M. International made the school proud by winning prizes in various categories in the CBSE Far East Zonal Chess Championship 2025 hosted by Griffins International School,  Kharagpur from 1st August to 3rd August, 2025.

The Under 11 Open team, featuring Adhyayan Sengupta, Adrysh Mukherjee, Rajanya Satpati, Ayush Das, and the Under 14 Girls team, comprising Pramugdha Kanu, Shilpa Mondal, Anushka Pramanik, and Soujanya Chakraborty, bagged the Winners position respectively.

The team featuring Rishan Debnath, Wriddhish Chakraborty, Sanjeeban Mondal, and Ankit Nayak was declared 1st Runner-up in the Under 17 Open category.

B.D.M. INTERNATIONAL Receives Ram Avtar Gupt Utkrishth Shiksha Samman 2025

The Ram Avtar Gupt Utkrishth Shiksha Samman 2025 was conferred upon two students of B.D.M. International at a grand award ceremony organised on 12th June 2025 at Kala Mandir by the Hindi daily Sanmarg.

Aditya Ray of Grade XII (2024–25) was awarded a cash prize of ₹10,000, a medal, and a trophy for securing 1st position in the Utkrishth Samman for Hindi.

Priyadarshini received a cash prize of ₹5,000, a medal, and a certificate for being among the top 10 performers in the city.

We congratulate these achievers for their outstanding accomplishments and unwavering commitment to the Hindi language.

SOF National Science Olympiad 2024–25 

We are proud to announce that Sabyasachi Laskar of B.D.M. International secured International Rank 2 in the SOF National Science Olympiad 2024–25, outshining participants from over 96,499 schools across more than 4,000 cities in 72 countries. His outstanding achievement was formally recognised at the 27th Annual SOF International Award Ceremony held on Sunday, 25th May 2025, at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.

Sabyasachi was honoured with a Silver Medal, a Certificate of Outstanding Performance, and a cash prize of ₹25,000. This prestigious award is a testament to his unwavering dedication, intellectual brilliance, and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Chess masters of B.D.M International bagged the trophy and certificates in the “2nd CHATURANGA”: The Inter School Rapid Team Chess Championship (2025), hosted by Delhi Public School Ruby Park, Kolkata on 3 May, 2025.

While the team from B.D.M.I secured the second runners-up position in the competition, B.D.M.Ians Wriddhish Chakraborty, Rishin Debnath, Sanjeeban Mandal and Ankit Nayak displayed, exceptional skill, strategic thinking and patience during the competition and emerged victorious.

Inter-School Chess Competition and Inter-School Sports Championship

The young sports enthusiasts of B.D.M. International participated in the Inter-School Chess Competition and Inter-School Sports Championship, organised by Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology. Out of the twenty participating schools, B D.M.I has secured a remarkable feat. Interschool Debate and Exhibition organized by Parivar Milan on 25th January 2025
B.D.M. International won three awards-two in individual categories and one in group category in the Interschool Debate and Exhibition organized by Parivar Milan on the eve of the Republic Day. On 25th January 2025 six students from grade XI participated in ‘Aao Sanvidhan Jane’ in which eleven reputed schools took part. Saumya Singh secured the First Position in the Hindi debate and Tanmay Modi received the Encouragement Award (Protsahan Puraskar) as a debater from the opposition team. The group comprising Priyanshi Sinha, Navya Singh, Priyadarshini Ray and Debjani Sen was conferred with the Encouragement Award (‘Protsahan Puraskar’) for their creative models in the exhibition based on the Indian Judiciary system. The students, attired as lawyers, added a new dimension to their creative spark. It was an enlightening experience for all the participants and helped them imbibe the core values embedded in the Indian Constitution.

B.D.M. International Jr. Team (Grade IV and V) clinches victory over Calcutta International School to emerge as the champion in the Inter-School Cricket Tournament organized by CIS. B.D.M.I won the match by 15 runs. Congratulations Team BDMI!!
CBSE Far East Zone Chess Championship
Chess masters of B.D.M. International bagged prizes in the CBSE Far East Zone Chess Championship, hosted by Royal Global School Guwahati from the 20th to 22nd of September, 2024. While the team from B.D.M. International secured the First Runner-Up Position in the game, Best Player positions were awarded to Rishin Debnath from First Board and Adrysh Mukherjee from Board 4. B.D.M.Ians Wriddhish Chakraborty, Sanjeeban Mandal and Ankit Nayak also made remarkable contributions in the game. The young masters held the flag of B.D.M. International high; and let it flutter against the shiny blue sky!

KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2024
“Karate is a lifelong journey of self-discovery and self- improvement”. B.D.M. International shares with pride and joy the victory of our Karate coaches in The International Goju Ryu Karate Championship 2024. The Championship was held from 25th June – 27th June 2024 with over 250 participants from India, Nepal and Bangladesh. India won the Champions’ trophy. Our Karate coaches achieved individual success in senior girls’ events.

International is ecstatic to announce the success of its chess masters, as the school has bagged the Champion’s Trophy in the 2nd War of Knights FIDE Rated School Chess Championship 2024, hosted by Knight Chess Academy from January 20th to 24th, 2024, defeating 98 other schools. Students also shone individually, with Rishan Debnath securing the 3rd position, Sanjeeban Mandal securing the 24th position, Wriddish Chakraborty securing the 32nd position, and Upayan Dey securing the 35th position in the open category, winning cash prizes and certificates. Adrysh Mukherjee and Arpita Pradha also won trophies for their success in the competition. Rishan Debnath also made us proud by achieving the 12th position at the 1st SOA International Grand Masters Chess Festival in Category B in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. We are immensely overjoyed about their accomplishments!

Samrat Bhattacharya (Class XII Science) – All India Rank of 25 out of 40 in “Chandrayaan-3 Mahaquiz”B.D.M. International feels proud to announce that Samrat Bhattacharya of Class XII Science has achieved an All India Rank of 25 out of 40.43+ lakh students that participated in the ‘Chandrayaan-3 Mahaquiz’ hosted by the Government of India during the month of October 2023. He is one of the 50 students, who has been invited to visit the ISRO Campus in addition to a Cash Prize of Rs. 1 lakh and a certificate signed by Dr. S. Somanath, the Chairman of ISRO.
Tata Building School Essay Competition 2023The Tata Building School Essay Competition was organized by Tata Group on 17 August 2023 at B D.M. International. Students from standard VI to VIII took part at the junior level and the senior school students from standard IX to XII participated in the senior level competition. The essay competition was conducted in Hindi language on the contemporary theme of the importance of Recycling and how one can adopt five (5) good habits to do the same.From the junior level, the 1st position was secured by Anusha Khandelwal (VIII/3). The 2nd and the 3rd positions were bagged by Divyanshi Laxmi (VIII/1) and Ayush Sharma (VII/ 13) respectively.At Senior level, Subranshu Das (X- 5) secured the first position. Anirudha Chatterjee (XI -Science) acquired the Second position and Priyadarshini Das (XI – Science) obtained the third position.All the achievers were given Certificates and Medals. B.D.M. International congratulates all the Prize Winners for their outstanding achievement.
CBSE Gymnastics National Championship 2023Adrija Roy of B.D.M. International made us proud by securing the 2nd Runner-up position in the CBSE Gymnastics National Championship 2023 (Under 14 Category), hosted by Chitrakoot International School, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra from 2nd to 5th November 2023. She bagged the prestigious bronze medal after her display of exemplary grit and determination at the National level competition. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours!
CBSE Chess Championship WinnersTriumph in the Royal Game! Chess masters of B.D.M International bagged prizes in the CBSE Far East Zone Chess Championship, hosted by Royal Global School Guwahati from the 12th to 14th of October, 2023. While the Boys of B.D.M.I secured the First Position for the Under 14 Mixed category, the Girls acquired the Position of First Runner Up for the Under 14 Girls’ Category in the game. Special Board Prizes were awarded to Rishan Debnath, Sanjeeban Mandal, Wriddhish Chakraborty, and Divyanshi Singh. Ranveer Pawar, Arpita Pradhan, Vakiti Theerdha Reddy, and Srijoni Roy Mandal also made remarkable contributions to the game. The young masters of B.D.M.I have indeed made us all proud!

Young minds of B.D.M.International with an intense focus on the issues and practices of Swachhata (Cleanliness) participated in the Poster Making Campaign on 29 September 2023 organized by The Activity Club of Victoria Memorial. B.D.M.Ian Chirantan Halder of Grade VIII received the 3rd prize in the competition for his unique portrayal of “Swachhata Hi Seva”!
Open State Kickboxing Championship 2023It is our pleasure to announce that 13 Students of Class IX from B.D.M. INTERNATIONAL participated in the Open State Kickboxing Championship 2023 on 20th August 2023 held at Konnagar High School, wherein our students secured 3 Gold medals, 3 Silver Medals, and 7 Bronze Medals respectively. Youth Parliament 2023The students of BDMI, Rishav Ray (HUM-B), Souptika Bhattacharya (XII A), Saumya Singh and Rudrangshu Sengupta (class X) participated in ‘Youth Parliament’, organised by Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya, Jaipur in memory of the founder, Rajmata Gayatri Devi. 34 schools participated with 132 students. Six topics were given and each parliamentarian spoke about each topic chosen by them. Six parliamentarians were awarded as-“Best Parliamentarians” from each group and each session. Our Souptika Bhattacharya XII, has been judged as one of the best parliamentarians from her group. Her topic was ‘Balance Between Economy and Ecology’. Heartiest Congratulations to her !! It’s been a fantastic performance. She has been awarded with a cheque of eleven thousand rupees and mementos for each participant. We are extremely proud of her.
Ram Awatar Gupt Hindi Protsahan 2023Indeed, a proud moment for B.D.M.I family for out of 8 finalists from Kolkata, West Bengal for RAM AWATAR GUPT HINDI PROTSAHAN AWARD 2023 from class 12 CBSE board 2 Finalists and 4 finalists from class 10 CBSE BOARD belonged to the B.D.M.I Family. The toppers of RAM AWATAR GUPT HINDI PROTSAHAN AWARD 2023 are1) Shuvangi Chakraborty topper finalist of class 12 and Swarn Kanti Duggar topper finalist of class 10 was awarded with a memento, a congratulatory certificate and a cheque of ₹12,100 from Sanmarg.2) Adrija Mukherjee Topper finalist of class 12 and Didhithi Kundu, Swayam Sawarup Patra and Shreya Bhar were awarded with a memento, a congratulatory certificate and a medal from Sanmarg.Warmest Congratulations to all the awardees wishing all even more success in the future.
Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony 2023On 24th July 2023, B.D.M International School held its Annual Prize Distribution ceremony when the students were rewarded for their sincere and sustained efforts in the 2022-2023 academic session. It was not only academic excellence that was appreciated but also categories such as all rounded effort, co curricular interests, regularity, punctuality, and progress were honoured. Apart from the chief guest, Mr Sushil Poddar (eminent personality in the Trade association circle), there were other dignitaries, CEO, Mr Gupta, Principal, Ms Madhumita Sengupta and Vice Principal, Ms Madhumita Seal to grace the occasion and present the prizes to the achievers. The ceremony conducted on Monday was a wonderful celebration of all the hard work put in by the students and most certainly made the parents, teachers, and entire BDMI family feel especially proud.
